Support Associate, Culture

 


POSITION:

ICS is looking for a full-time School Support Associate, Culture. Successful candidates are highly organized, detail oriented, energetic, committed to urban education and excited by the challenge of growing with our school. The positions reports to the Co-Principal but requires close collaboration with a range of other school staff.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an additional resource to teachers for student behavior interventions, in and out of the classroom

  • Provide on-call intervention support (includes removal from class, 1:1 conversations, movement breaks and other mediations).

  • Support teachers in maintaining a safe physical and emotional classroom environment

  • Participate in hallway transitions, lunch, recess, dismissal and safety drill duties as assigned

  • Work with Mental Health and Learning Support teams to anticipate student needs and develop effective strategies and tactics to support students achieving their goals.

  • Participate in weekly professional development programs with all staff

  • Incorporate feedback from observations to improve one’s own practices

  • Provide support with other operational needs and special projects as requested

  • Assist school leaders with implementing school culture initiatives and activities

  • Elementary school experience, preferably in an urban school system

  • Strong belief in the ability of all children to succeed

  • Strong organization skills, demonstrated ability to set and manage priorities while working in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
