Jennifer is the Director of Assessment and Evaluation for New Classrooms Innovation Partners, a non-profit that develops and evaluates personalized, blended middle school math programs. She previously worked as research analyst for the New York City Department of Education’s Office of Innovation. Jennifer taught government and politics to high school students in Brooklyn, the Bronx , and Fairfax County, Virginia for six years, and served as a legislative assistant to U.S. Senator Harry Reid before earning her doctorate in Politics and Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. Jennifer’s book, Gentrification and Schools, explores the process of school integration in gentrifying neighborhoods. She lives in Harlem with her husband and two children.
